What we process and why

• Connection data (IP address, browser, requested page): needed to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Technical errors, always: when a page breaks we receive the error message, the page address without query parameters, the browser version and the site release. No cookies, no name, email or other identifier. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site working (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Statistics, only with your consent: the pages you view (address without query parameters) and how fast they load. Cookieless: nothing is stored on your device. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• Session replay, only with your consent: a recording of how the page reacts to your visit (scrolling, clicks, page layout). All text and every form field are masked in your browser, before anything is sent. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

We do not sell data, we do not use it for advertising and we do not build profiles. Giving consent is optional: refusing it does not limit the use of the site.

How long we keep it

• Connection data: only for the time needed to deliver the page and protect the site.
• Technical errors: 30 days.
• Statistics: 12 months.
• Session replays: 30 days.
• Your consent choice: 180 days, in a cookie on your device.

Providers

• Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany: hosting of the website and of the CloseYourIt servers.
• CloseYourIt: the error monitoring, statistics and replay service, run by the controller himself on Hetzner servers in Germany. The data is not passed on to third parties.
• Cloudflare, Inc., United States: the network that delivers and protects the site, which processes connection data. Transfers outside the EU are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and by the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission. You can request a copy of these safeguards by writing to [email protected].

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict its processing, to object to it and to receive it in a portable format, by writing to [email protected]. You can withdraw your consent at any time from the cookie page: this does not affect what happened before.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority of the EU country where you live.

When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page.
